A hotel that only sells through booking portals pays a commission on every night. Direct booking on your own site removes that on the rooms you fill yourself. We built, installed and measured a booking system that does this: room types and availability, nightly price rules, a guest form, payment on the provider's own page, and a confirmation that only counts once the payment is verified.

Questions from this sector
Can guests book and pay directly on my site?
Yes. The guest picks dates and a room, and the payment happens on the payment provider's own page.
Could a guest change the price in the browser?
No. The amount is calculated on the server. We tested this by sending a false amount from the browser, and the server kept its own figure.
What stops the same room being sold twice?
The availability count is locked while a booking is being made. Under a concurrency test, twenty simultaneous attempts produced one booking and nineteen clean refusals.
What happens if a guest starts a payment and abandons it?
The room is held for a set window and released automatically when it expires, so the calendar does not silently fill with unpaid holds.
Can I close a room or refund a booking myself?
Yes, from the hotel panel: list, calendar, close a room, cancel and refund.
